Who we are

Qua makes a smart bottle and the app that goes with it. This policy explains what we collect when you visit quabottle.com and join the waitlist, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect, and why

When you join the waitlist

• Your email address, so we can send you emails (see “Our emails” below).
• Your Early Duck number: the place you joined in. We save it with your email so your badge stays yours.
• Your name, only if you add it to your badge. It is saved with your email and printed on your badge. We never show it to anyone else.
• That you agreed to receive our emails, and when.

The website shows how many people have joined. That is only a number, never names or emails.

When you use the water calculator

Your weight and activity stay in your browser. They are never sent to us or saved.

When you visit the site

• Technical data such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit. Shopify, which hosts our site, needs this to show the site and keep it safe.
• A spam check. The sign-up form is protected by hCaptcha, through Shopify. It looks at technical signals (such as your IP address and how the page is used) to tell people from bots. It runs in the background; you may occasionally be asked to solve a short puzzle.
• Analytics, only if you allow it. With your permission we use Google Analytics and Shopify’s own statistics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. Without your permission these do not run.

When you write to us

Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message, so we can reply. We keep them as long as we need to answer you and handle your question.

Our emails

If you join the waitlist, we email you:

• news about Qua and how it is coming along;
• tips on hydration (general information, not medical advice);
• the launch, and when the bottle and app become available.

Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click and you stop receiving them.

Why we are allowed to use your data

• Your consent for our emails and for analytics. You can withdraw it at any time; that does not undo anything we did before.
• Our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website and stopping spam (Shopify’s technical data and the hCaptcha check).

Who else handles your data

We do not sell your data, rent it, or use it for advertising. A few companies handle it on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:

• Shopify: hosts the website, stores the waitlist and sends our emails (or another email service working for us).
• hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc.), via Shopify: the spam check on the sign-up form.
• Google (Google Analytics): visitor statistics, only with your permission.

Some of these companies process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

What is saved in your browser

• Your light or dark choice, if you switch it on the site, so it stays the same next time.
• Your email, for this visit only, so the name you add to your badge is linked to the right sign-up. It is deleted when you close the tab.
• Cookies that Shopify needs for the site to work and stay secure.
• Analytics cookies, only if you allow them.

You can change your cookie choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the site.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist details for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to, we delete them, unless the law requires us to keep something.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct, delete or hand over your data, to limit how we use it, or object to it. Email info@quabottle.com; we reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm it is really you.

If you are not happy with how we handle your data, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

The Qua app

This policy covers this website and the waitlist. The Qua app will have its own privacy policy, published before the app is available. It will explain how the app handles health data, photos and QAi.

Children

Our website and waitlist are not meant for anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change matters for how we use your email, we will tell you by email first.

Wie we zijn

Qua maakt een slimme fles en de app die erbij hoort. Dit beleid legt uit wat we verzamelen als je quabottle.com bezoekt en je aanmeldt voor de wachtlijst, waarom, en wat je ermee kunt.

Qua is verantwoordelijk voor je persoonsgegevens. Vragen, verzoeken of klachten: info@quabottle.com.

Wat we verzamelen, en waarom

Als je je aanmeldt voor de wachtlijst

• Je e-mailadres, zodat we je e-mails kunnen sturen (zie “Onze e-mails” hieronder).
• Je Early Duck-nummer: de plek waarop je je aanmeldde. We bewaren het bij je e-mailadres, zodat je badge van jou blijft.
• Je naam, alleen als je die aan je badge toevoegt. We bewaren hem bij je e-mailadres en zetten hem op je badge. We laten hem nooit aan anderen zien.
• Dat je toestemming gaf voor onze e-mails, en wanneer.

De website laat zien hoeveel mensen zich hebben aangemeld. Dat is alleen een getal, nooit namen of e-mailadressen.

Als je de watercalculator gebruikt

Je gewicht en activiteit blijven in je browser. Ze worden nooit naar ons gestuurd of bewaard.

Als je de site bezoekt

• Technische gegevens zoals je IP-adres, browser, apparaat en de pagina’s die je bekijkt. Shopify, dat onze site host, heeft die nodig om de site te tonen en veilig te houden.
• Een spamcontrole. Het aanmeldformulier wordt via Shopify beschermd door hCaptcha. Dat kijkt naar technische signalen (zoals je IP-adres en hoe de pagina wordt gebruikt) om mensen van bots te onderscheiden. Het werkt op de achtergrond; soms vragen we je een korte puzzel op te lossen.
• Statistieken, alleen als je dat toestaat. Met je toestemming gebruiken we Google Analytics en de statistieken van Shopify om te zien hoeveel mensen de site bezoeken en welke pagina’s ze lezen. Zonder je toestemming staan die uit.

Als je ons schrijft

Je naam, e-mailadres, telefoonnummer als je dat geeft, en je bericht, zodat we kunnen antwoorden. We bewaren ze zolang we nodig hebben om je te antwoorden en je vraag af te handelen.

Onze e-mails

Als je je aanmeldt voor de wachtlijst, mailen we je:

• nieuws over Qua en hoe het ervoor staat;
• tips over drinken en hydratatie (algemene informatie, geen medisch advies);
• de lancering, en wanneer de fles en de app beschikbaar zijn.

Elke e-mail heeft een afmeldlink. Eén klik en je ontvangt ze niet meer.

Waarom we je gegevens mogen gebruiken

• Je toestemming voor onze e-mails en voor statistieken. Je kunt die altijd intrekken; wat we daarvoor deden, blijft rechtmatig.
• Ons gerechtvaardigd belang bij een werkende, veilige website zonder spam (de technische gegevens van Shopify en de hCaptcha-controle).

Wie je gegevens nog meer verwerkt

We verkopen je gegevens niet, verhuren ze niet en gebruiken ze niet voor advertenties. Een paar bedrijven verwerken ze namens ons, alleen om hun dienst aan ons te leveren:

• Shopify: host de website, bewaart de wachtlijst en verstuurt onze e-mails (of een andere e-maildienst die voor ons werkt).
• hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc.), via Shopify: de spamcontrole op het aanmeldformulier.
• Google (Google Analytics): bezoekersstatistieken, alleen met je toestemming.

Sommige van deze bedrijven verwerken gegevens buiten de Europese Economische Ruimte, ook in de Verenigde Staten. Als dat gebeurt, is die doorgifte beschermd door het EU-VS Data Privacy Framework of door de standaardcontractbepalingen van de Europese Commissie.

Wat er in je browser wordt bewaard

• Je keuze voor licht of donker, als je die op de site wijzigt, zodat die de volgende keer hetzelfde is.
• Je e-mailadres, alleen voor dit bezoek, zodat de naam die je aan je badge toevoegt bij de juiste aanmelding komt. Het wordt gewist als je het tabblad sluit.
• Cookies die Shopify nodig heeft om de site te laten werken en veilig te houden.
• Statistiekcookies, alleen als je die toestaat.

Je kunt je cookiekeuze altijd wijzigen via de link “Cookie-instellingen” onderaan de site.

Hoe lang we het bewaren

We bewaren je wachtlijstgegevens zolang je bent aangemeld. Meld je je af of vraag je het ons, dan verwijderen we ze, tenzij de wet ons verplicht iets te bewaren.

Je rechten

Je kunt ons vragen je gegevens in te zien, te verbeteren, te verwijderen of over te dragen, het gebruik ervan te beperken, of er bezwaar tegen te maken. Mail naar info@quabottle.com; we antwoorden binnen een maand. We kunnen je vragen te bevestigen dat jij het echt bent.

Ben je niet tevreden over hoe we met je gegevens omgaan, laat het ons dan eerst weten, zodat we het kunnen oplossen. Je kunt ook een klacht indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

De Qua-app

Dit beleid gaat over deze website en de wachtlijst. De Qua-app krijgt een eigen privacybeleid, dat we publiceren voordat de app beschikbaar is. Daarin staat hoe de app omgaat met gezondheidsgegevens, foto’s en QAi.

Kinderen

Onze website en wachtlijst zijn niet bedoeld voor iemand jonger dan 16.

Wijzigingen

Als we dit beleid wijzigen, passen we de datum bovenaan aan. Raakt een wijziging hoe we je e-mailadres gebruiken, dan laten we het je eerst per e-mail weten.
